Microsoft Java Virtual Machine

Soon after Microsoft released Windows XP Service Pack 1 in September 2002, legal issues between Microsoft and Sun Microsystems resulted in Microsoft no longer being allowed to distribute their Java VM software. Windows XP Service Pack 1a was released, with the Java software stripped out. Users who need Java support should install Sun’s version, which works fine for many things. However, some software (such as Yahoo’s Java voice chat client) does not work with Sun’s VM. So, here is Microsoft’s VM.
