The Kelley Family
The Kelley family relocated from Macon, Georgia in 1999. They had lived in Macon for eleven years. Ben Kelley
Ben is the Dean of the School of Engineering and Computer Science at Baylor University. He has degrees from Auburn University and the University of Kentucky. Prior to coming to Baylor, he served on the faculty at Mercer University for eleven years and was research associate at Southern Research Institute in Birmingham, Alabama for five years. He enjoys gardening and landscaping in his spare time and plays the trombone in the church orchestra at First Baptist Woodway. He has traveled extensively, including visits to Canada, Mexico, Colombia, France, England, The Netherlands, the former Soviet Union, China, Japan, Kenya, and beyond. He has endured marriage to Kathy for twenty-seven years. Kathy Kelley
Kathy received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Centre College of Kentucky. She serves as the webmaster for Waco Music Teachers Association (listen to the homepage recording of Aaron playing piano) and Homespun Quilters' Guild, and is Waco Symphony Council co-chair of the 2008 Symphony Showhouse. Her favorite hobbies are quilting and watching Jordan (below) play baseball. She has won numerous awards for her quilts, including the coveted "Viewer's Choice" at the Waco Quilt Show 2006, and the Corrine Manley Memorial Award for Innovative Use of a Traditional Block at the Dallas Quilt Celebration 2007. Her quilt, Carnival Calliope (pictured above) also won 'Viewer's Choice' at the New England Quilt Museum juried national show in August 2007 and then appeared in the Houston International Quilt Show in November. Kathy teaches smocking, heirloom sewing, and quilting at Tomorrow's Quilts, and heads up the 'Quilting Divas' quilting bee group. Check out her quilt gallery. Aaron Kelley
Aaron is a graduate of Baylor University with a degree in Computer Science and is an accomplished pianist. He was a National Merit Commended Scholar and a four year recipient of the Baylor President's Scholarship. Aaron is currently in graduate school at Baylor and is employed by Baylor University as a Computer Science graduate assistant, tutor, and grading assistant, and also works as the Computer System Administrator at Vanguard College Preparatory School. He serves as webmaster for Baylor Men's Choir and is active on the governing board of the Baylor Engineering and Computer Science Living and Learning Center. He enjoys traveling internationally, including recent trips to Kenya, The Netherlands, England, Ireland, Germany, France, Italy, and Japan. Robin is a senior at Baylor University majoring in Museum Studies and Anthropology. She was a National Merit Commended Scholar and graduated from Vanguard College Preparatory School. She is the recipient of the Baylor President's Scholarship and also the Baylor Achievement scholarship. She is employed by Mayborn Museum at Baylor and is looking forward graduation in August, 2008. She volunteers for Historic Waco Foundation and the Dr. Pepper Museum. Robin hopes to begin working on a Master's Degree in Rehabilitational Mobility in the fall of 2008. She is a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church. In her spare time, Robin enjoys reading, playing 'World of Warcraft' on her computer, quilting, beading, and visiting her boyfriend, Josh. Shannon is a senior at Vanguard College Preparatory School where she is an honor student. She will be attending Baylor University in the fall where she plans to major in Music and Entertainment Marketing. In her spare time, Shannon enjoys reading, movies, concerts, and spending time with her friends. Shannon plays piano and guitar, sings, and is nuts about country music. She recently visited Nashville, Tennessee. She currently works at Tractor Supply Company. Click here for photos. Jordan Kelley
Jordan is an sophomore at Midway High School. He was born in Vietnam in 1991 and joined the Kelley family in 1994. An accomplished athlete, Jordan plays baseball for Midway High School and plays select baseball for the Buzz/Lightning Baseball Academy. He is also a wonderful artist (click here to see some samples of his art work). In his spare time, he enjoys drawing, messing with the computer, watching sports on TV, going to movies, and hanging out with friends. Oh, and look out! He is driving now...
