Hotfixes for Windows 7 SP1

If you do not have Service Pack 1 for Windows 7, you can download the update for free from Microsoft.

If you have downloaded a bunch of hotfixes, you can install them with no user interaction. Just open an elevated command prompt, navigate to the folder containing the hotfixes, and run:

for %i in (*) do start /wait wusa "%i" /quiet /norestart

You can replace the “*” with “*x86*” or “*x64*” to pick only one type of hotfix, if the folder contains both.

    Suggestions:

    1. Add a prefix/numbered list to the chart

    2. Mention somewhere the exact total count of updates (50…+)

    3. Add a color code or icon distinction or a javascript/ajax list sort feature to separate the categories vulnerabilities/criticals/security from “software” updates.

    4. Consider linking the direct/hotlink URL to the download. This saves time and streamlines the download process.

    5. Annex a quick note of how to use commands line available for those wanting to batch the updates manually.
